84% of students who took part in the December 2013 survey reported an improvement in their confidence and self esteem as a result of CAST’s programmes. 90% of CAST students in 2013 reported an improvement in their skills and coping strategies. 69% of CAST students have started volunteering for other charitable organisations or for CAST’s craft stall. 35% of students who work in the voluntary sector state that CAST helped them to find and maintain their position. I feel more confident learning new things and learning more about myself.
"I no longer attend CAST because I am doing very well and doing voluntary work. I am particularly grateful for the lovely CAST courses I did, especially the co-coaching course with Natalie Walker, and the jewellery class with Rosemary Richards (I still wear the beadwork bracelet I made!). I am continuing with art, poetry and embroidery. I am in a voluntary entertainment group of pianists, violinist and singers taking shows to local residential homes, where I recite my poetry. Also I am voluntary secretary of my synagogue. Thank you very much for the way that CAST has helped me on my way forward.(Naomi).
CAST has been such a valuable resource over the last years. As a team we were extremely concerned when we heard CAST might not get funding again and we were then so happy when CAST survived. All the women who come to our service are offered CAST because of the range of workshops and opportunities on offer and also the supportive environment that CAST offers.
All of the women I have referred, without exception, have said how wonderful their experience of CAST has been and have grown in confidence and discovered hobbies and skills in the time they have engaged in CAST. In addition the staff at CAST are helpful, enthusiastic and very swift at responding to referrals and any queries. The Camden Aftercare Service team are big CAST fans- thanks so much for all your assistance with our clients. Long may it continue!’ (Bridget Symonds SHP).
